Toronto FC announced Monday that they had waived defender Andrew Boyens, a 2007 SuperDraft selection out of the University of New Mexico.

“We wish Andy all the best in his future career,” said manager Mo Johnston. “He’s been a true professional both on and off the field for us since his arrival and we thank him for his contribution to the club.”

Boyens, 23, started 21 of 23 games with Toronto FC recording one goal and one assist in 1825 minutes.
